Supplier Quality Engineer

Budejovice on-site / Czech Republic – PERMANENT/INTERIM

Working for a first-class supplier of interior, exterior, seating, sealing & AVS, auto electronics, located in the vibrant, stunning historic city of Budejovice, in the South Bohemian region of the Czech Republic.

Job Overview:

An opportunity has arisen for a Supplier Quality Engineer to become a part of the dynamic Quality department within a rapidly growing and stimulating work setting. Responsible for participating in and supporting the nomination related works of the purchasing department.

  • Participate in the audit and construction of the quality management system for the new Czech factory, make plan and lead supplier audits to integrate external suppliers into the system for quality related aspects.
  • Technical communication with suppliers in the early development phase, includes transferring 3D data and 2D drawing to suppliers ,technology exchange based on the complete seat parts knowhow, and considering the feasibility of the process in supplier side.
  • From the development PV build phase of the project to the successful handover to plant quality team , includes the quality planning, quality assurance, quality risk identification and management, quality problem collection, organization, and tracking management of all project development build phase involving suppliers are carried out to ensure that the development and delivery quality meets the customer needs.

Industrial development management and quality control of Automotive suppliers:

  • Stamping parts
  • Injection molding plastic parts
  • Electronic and electrical components
  • Trim cover(Leather/PVC, sewing and lamination) parts
  • Metal parts

 

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for complete supply chain from procurement, production to end customer, internal, external flows, budget, strategy, improvements.
  • Signing of Quality Assurance Agreement with all the suppliers, collaborate with the purchasing team.
  • Launch Project Management.
  • Reporting  the sub-supplier and sub-components status to Quality director and project manager

 

Education/Work Experience Requirements:

  • Customer, BU and Operations Organization
  • Knows existing processes and rules and internal escalation and decision-making structures
  • Knows the methods, tools and contact persons for managing the project in operations
  • Knows existing processes and requirements from the BMW customer”
  • Knowledge of the Product Life Cycle, the Operations Processes including Project Supporting Processes
  • Knows the BMW project development process, mainly focusing on the requirements for supplier products and process( industrialization implementation) at each build phase”
  • Basic know how, CT, OEE, capacity calculation, Safe Launch, Line Release, APQP, PPAP
  • “Operations Project tracking and reporting
  • Knowledge of methods and tools (eCR, R&R, POKA-YOKE,LEAN manufacturing, D-FMEA, P-FMEA, operation and inspection work instruction, MSA)”
  • Sensitivity to change management – Understand tracking and reporting of deviation
  • More than 10 years of supply chain experience in Europe, ideally dealing with BMW.
  • Bachelor Degree above
  • Knowledge of BMW project development processes
  • Knowledge of BMW quality requirements

  • Capable to interact with International teams
  • Experience in multi cultural / internationality projects
  • Advanced knowledge of English and Czech and German are considered a bonus
